We put our trust and faith in you – that when we open our Uber App, someone who is background checked and verified will be here to pick us up, and take us safely to our destination. So, we must ask, how is someone with these charges getting past your background checks? In a recent article about some hateful quotes from Nashville Driver Dino Formosa, we happened upon his criminal background charges. Here is a partial list of both convictions, and charges that were brought but settled/dropped:

Let’s look at some of the officers notes, in detail.. you won’t believe this guy is allowed to drive passengers around for Uber:
“The suspect was observed operating a Ford Explorer on Shute Lane in Hermitage, TN. While on this two lane road (one lane each direction), he crossed the double yellow line, driving into on coming traffic. The roadways were wet, with oncoming traffic having to slow to avoid being hit.”

Open in new tab “Defendant’s vehicle was observed operating on Shute Lane near Lebanon Rd when the defendant activated forward facing flashing blue lights and a siren in an attempt to stop and unmarked police vehicle being driven by a plain clothes officer. Defendant’s vehicle is equiped as an emergency vehicle and the defendant is not a P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement officer in Tennessee or a law enforcement officer in any other state. Defendant stated under miranda that he had the blue lights installed when people would not stop for him when he used his siren or public address system mounted in his vehicle.”

“Defendant was driver of 1995 white Buick Century 4 door stopped for investigation as an MDC check of the license plate showed the registered owner had a suspended drivers license. Further investigation found the defendant was, in fact, the registered owner and his license was suspended. MDC also showed a history of 3 past capiases and several driving on suspended license charges. Defendant was not eligible for a state citation.”

Uber has replied with their generic message, and are re-evaluating access to the platform for this driver:
UPDATE: at 5PM we were notified that the driver would be removed from the uber platform, however he posted around 7PM, and he will keep his job if he stays off social media. #UberOn?
