We invite you to do ‘Do like Dan’ this holiday season – especially with New Years Eve coming up, and East Nashville being a festive place full of liquor waterfalls – if you go chasing them, we invite you to ‘Do like Dan’ and don’t drink and drive – at least not this time. You see, East Nashvillian Dan Poole is charged with Drinking and Driving Under the Influence back in September, among other things including seat belt violation, traffic control signals, and registration and insurance proof. We are, in fact, happy to see that Dan has learned how to leave his car behind when he drinks too much at the bar – and get someone to bring him back to his car the next morning, when he’s apparently sober:

On Saturday the 19th day of September 2015, I observed a silver Honda Accord failed to stop at the flashing red light at N 11th St and Gallatin Ave. Upon stopping the vehicle and making contact with the driver a Daniel Poole I could smell the obvious odor of intoxicant about his person and his speech was slurred. I asked him if he had been drinking, he admitted he admitted to consuming alcohol. I asked him to exit his vehicle to perform SFSTS. He was unsteady on his feet upon exiting his vehicle. First I conducted an eye examination of which I observed him to exhibit red and water eyes, lack of smooth, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation and onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees in both eyes. He was then asked to perform the walk and turn after I demonstrated and explained the test. He was unable to maintain his balance during the instruction phase and he began the test before instructed to do so. He stepped off line and missed heel to toe on every step of the first set of steps; he stopped on step nine; he made an improper turn by failing to perform as demonstrated and explained. He stepped off line and missed heel to toe on every step of the second set of steps. He was then asked to perform the one leg stand after I demonstrated and explained the test; he stood on his right leg for the test. He was unable to maintain his balance during the instruction phase in that he swayed while standing on one leg; he put his foot down before the passage of thirty seconds and started counting over each time he picked his foot back up. He was arrested for DUI and transported to St. Thomas Midtown where he consented and gave blood for BAC. He was then transported to Metro Booking
