FELONY GUN ARRESTS: Kayla Head (25) & Tony Dowlen (40) – Loaded Taurus .380 Semi-Automatic

[In an effort to illustrate the widespread issue of guns on the streets of Nashville, and the senseless deaths of so many citizens, we continue to publish arrests that related to illegally possessed guns]

Kayla Head was arrested late Sunday night on several charges including “WEAPON – FELON IN POSSESION OF A HANDGUN (Felony)”

Current Charges:

CONT SUB, POSS OR CASUAL EXCHANGE – $2500 BOND
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, POSSESS – $2500 BOND
WEAPON – FELON IN POSSESION OF A HANDGUN – $10000 BOND

Also in the vehicle was Tony Dowlen,

Poss.or Casual Exch. – $2500 BOND
WEAPON – FELON IN POSSESION OF A HANDGUN – $10000 BOND

In addition to current charges, Kayla Head is being held on an out-of-county warrant, for Robertson County to answer for other charges. She as multiple facebook accounts. Dowlen bonded out just after midnight.

Defendant was a passenger inside a vehicle stopped for an improper display of tags violation. While talking to the driver I observed a marijuana cigar in plain view. Upon getting the defendant out of the vehicle officers observed a glass pipe with powder residue fall from the defendant’s crotch area. Upon checking the defendant for warrants defendant was found to have a felony violation of probation warrant out of Robertson County. Defendant was placed in custody for the warrant and upon being searched by a female officer the defendant admitted to having marijuana hidden in her crotch. The marijuana was retrieved and weighed approximately 2.6 grams. Defendant was also found to have a digital scale with marijuana residue on her person. During a probable cause search of the vehicle a loaded Taurus .380 Semi-Automatic handgun under the driver’s seat. Both the driver and the defendant denied ownership of the handgun. A check of the defendant’s criminal history found her to have been convicted of a felony drug offense in Robertson County in 2016. Defendant was transported to booking and charged with simple possession, drug paraphernalia, and felon in possession of a handgun.
