Additional Charges: Jeremy ‘Austin’ Bowden – Stealing More Delivered Packages in East Nashville

Tell a friend. Jeremy ‘Austin’ Bowden, 20, who was already charged for a multitude of crimes during this ‘spree’ has been served with an additional charge of ‘Theft of Property- $1,000 or less’, TCA 39-14-103*15. This charge adds an additional $2500 bond to his current $75000 bond.

MNPD Arrest Affidavit:

Defendant and his vehicle were positively identified by Mr. xxx at xxx Fern Ave as the male that tried to rob him at xxx Winston Dr. in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee at 1532 hours. When officers first made contact with the defendant he was inside the vehicle, a vehicle check via ARMS comes back to the defendant and he was in possession of the key when taken into custody. A search of the defendant’s vehicle produced two semi-automatic handguns, burnt marijuana cigarette, digital scales, a shipping package addressed to Michael xxx with $200 worth of 9mm ammunition and two other shipping packages belonging to two other individuals. All of the packages show as delivered on 08-19-2017 between the hours of 0943 and 1536 hours. Mr. xxx gave a description of the defendant as being in the area but was unaware that he had taken his property until contacted by police.

Jeremy ‘Austin’ Bowden, who was previously arrested on August 11th for selling baking soda as cocaine, has once again been arrested for a multitude of charges on August 19th – ranging from attempted aggravated robbery, felony weapon charges, felon in possession of a handgun, theft of packages delivered to houses, and others – all detailed below. Once again, upon arrest, he was found to also be selling baking powder as cocaine, a charge for which he was already awaiting trial.

Here’s his current outstanding charges, for which he is being held, on a $75,000 bond – though two additional felony weapon charges outstanding are no bond.

PD RESPONDED TO A CALL OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE AT 3899 STEVENS LN. THE SUSPECT OF THIS INCIDENT WAS DESCRIBED AS A SHORT WHITE MALE, THIN BUILD, WITH SORES ALL OVER HIS FACE. THEY STATED HIS NAME WAS AUSTIN BOWDEN. WHILE ON THE SCENE OF THIS CALL, A ROBBERY CALL CAME OUT FROM 4521 WINSTON DR WHICH WAS RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM THIS DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE. WHEN OFFICERS ARRIVED ON THE SCENE AT 4521 WINSTON DR, MR. GROVES, THE VICTIM OF THE ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, PROVIDED A DESCRIPTION OF THE SUSPECT THAT MATCHED THE DESCRIPTION OF MR. BOWDEN, THE DEFENDANT. MR. GROVES ALSO DESCRIBED THE DEFENDANT’S VEHICLE AS AN OLDER MODEL HONDA WITH A TEMP TAG. A SEARCH IN ARMS PROVIDED A POSSIBLE ADDRESS FOR MR. BOWDEN OF 129 FERN AVE. PD DROVE TO THIS ADDRESS AND SAW THE DEFENDANT IN A VEHICLE THAT MATCHED MR. GROVE’S DESCRIPTION OF THE SUSPECT VEHICLE. PD APPROACHED THE VEHICLE AND MR. BOWDEN GOT OUT. AS HE GOT OUT, PD ASKED HIS NAME AND HE STATED, “AUSTIN BOWDEN.” HE WAS THEN PLACED IN HANDCUFFS AND ADVISED THAT HE WAS BEING DETAINED UNDER SUSPICION HE WAS INVOLVED IN A RECENT CRIME. HE WAS ALSO READ HIS MIRANDA RIGHTS AT THAT TIME. PD MADE CONTACT WITH MR. GROVES, AND HE RESPONDED TO THE SCENE. MR. GROVES VIEWED THE DEFENDANT IN A SHOW UP WHICH WAS CONDUCTED AROUND AN HOUR AND A HALF AFTER THE ATTEMPTED ROBBERY OCCURRED. MR. GROVES POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED MR. BOWDEN AS THE INDIVIDUAL WHO PULLED A GUN ON HIM AND DEMANDED HE HAND OVER HIS WALLET. AT THAT TIME, MR. BOWDEN WAS ADVISED HE WAS UNDER ARRESST FOR AGGRAVATED ROBBERY. BASED ON THE IDENTIFICATION OF MR. BOWDEN AND 9MM SHELL CASINGS IN PLAIN VIEW IN THE VEHICLE, AS WELL AS MR. BOWDEN’S ADMISSION THAT THERE WERE TWO GUNS IN THE VEHICLE, PD CONDUCTED A SEARCH OF THE VEHICLE. THE SEARCH YIELDED TWO SEMI-AUTOMATIC HANDGUNS; ONE 9MM AND ONE .22 CALIBER. A SET OF DIGITAL SCALES WAS ALSO LOCATED NEAR A BAG OF A WHITE POWDERY SUBSTANCE WHICH TESTED NEGATIVE FOR COCAINE. THE DEFENDANT IS A CONVICTED FELON AND UNDER THE AGE OF 21, THEREFORE, NOT PERMITTED TO POSSESS ANY HANDGUNS.

On 08-19-2017 at 1645 hours the defendant and his vehicle were positively identified by Mr. Groves at 129 Fern Ave as the male that tried to rob him at 4521 Winston Dr. in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee at 1532 hours. When officers first made contact with the defendant he was inside the vehicle, a vehicle check via ARMS comes back to the defendant and he was in possession of the key when taken into custody. A search of the defendant’s vehicle produced two semi-automatic handguns, burnt marijuana cigarette, digital scales, a shipping package addressed to Sherrell with $40 worth of merchandise, a shipping package addressed to Green with $50 worth of merchandise and a shipping package addressed to Stabin with $200 worth of 9mm ammunition.All of the packages were opened and inside the defendant’s vehicle. Tracking for the packages show all three were delivered on 08-19-2017 between 0943 and 1536 hours. Ms. Green and Mr. Stabin gave a description of the suspect and stated they had seen him in the area but were unaware that he had taken items form their residence.
