Dwight Boshers was arrested again Friday, this time for violation of probation, and possession of meth. We had originally queued his story for publication back in September, but a very speedy court case resulted in a plea where the charge would be deferred and eligible to be expunged, if he stayed out of trouble. Since that didn’t happen, and he now has new charges, we’ll now publish them all. First the original charge, where he fails as a robber:
on 09/09/17, on the 200 block of White Bridge Road, MNPD responded to a burglary call. The victim/homeowner states he was sleeping in his bedroom when a young white mail with long blonde hair, kicked in his front door. The homeowner jumped out of bed and confronted the defendant at the front door, and in response the defendant yelled “OH, SHIT” and ran away from the scene. Some time later, officers observed a male matching the defendant’s description and detained him for questioning. A show up was conducted, and he was positively identified. The suspect’s boot prints also were a match to the pattern on the door that was kicked in. A few days later, in a guilty/judgement deferred/no conviction plea, the defendant was sentenced to a year of probation, where everything would disappear if he got no new charges in the next 12 months.
Fast forward to Friday night, 10/13/17. MNPD responds to a call of a while male walking in back yards carrying a bag. The suspect was identified as Boshers and when his ID was ran, returned with a confirmed warrant. During the search incident to arrest, a small amount of methamphetamine was found on him. Boshers claimed to have ‘found’ the meth on the ground near a construction site.
MNPD Affidavit of original charge:
OFFICER RESPONDED TO A HOME BURGLARY AT 276 WHITE BRIDGE PKE APT 87 ON 09/09/2017 AT 0135 HRS. THE VICTIM WHO IS THE OWNER OF THE RESIDENCE STATED THAT HE WAS SLEEPING IN HIS BEDROOM WHEN A YOUNGER, MALE, WHITE WITH LONG BLONDE HAIR, WEARING A BLUE JACKET AND JEANS KICKED IN HIS FRONT DOOR. THE WITNESS JUMPED OUT OF BED AND CONFRONTED THE DEFENDANT AT THE FRONT DOOR AND WITNESS STATED THE DEFENDANT YELLED, “OH SHIT!” OFFICER SEARCHED THE AREA WITH THE DESCRIPTION GIVEN. AT 0252 HRS, OFFICER OBSERVED A MALE MATCHING THAT DESCRIPTION WALKING WITHIN A BLOCK OF WHERE THE BURGLARY OCCURRED. OFFICER DETAINED THE DEFENDANT IN ORDER FOR QUESTIONING AND TO CONDUCT A SHOW UP WITH THE HOME OWNER. OFFICER NOTICED THAT THE DEFENDANTS BOOTS MATCHED THE EXACT PATTERN ON THE DOOR OF THE VICTIMS RESIDENCE THAT WAS KICKED IN. OFFICERS THAT CONDUCTED THE REPORT OF THE INCIDENT BROUGHT THE VICTIM IN ORDER TO CONDUCT THE SHOW UP. THE VICTIM WAS ABLE TO POSITIVELY IDENTIFY THE DEFENDANT AT 0304 HRS. WHILE BEING DETAINED THE DEFENDANT MADE SEVERAL SPONTANEOUS UTTERANCES REGARDING THE BURGLARY. THE DEFENDANT WAS HEARD STATING HE KICKED THE DOOR IN AND THAT THE BOOT PRINT ON THE DOOR WAS HIS. OFFICER READ THE DEFENDANT MIRANDA RIGHTS. THE DEFENDANT STATED THE FOOT PRINT ON THE DOOR WAS IN FACT HIS. DEFENDANT ADMITTING TO KICKING IN THE DOOR AND MAKING ENTRY INTO THE HOME. THE DEFENDANT ALSO ADMITTED TO BEING INSIDE THE RESIDENCE WHEN HE WAS CONFRONTED BY THE VICTIM (HOMEOWNER.)
Latest MNPD Affidavit:
I was dispatched to the location for a report of a male, white, with dreds, carrying a bag, and walking in peoples’ back yards. I arrived in the area and saw a male matching the description. I stopped him and asked for his identification and what he was doing. He did admit to walking in back yards. He gave me his information and he returned with a warrant. I confirmed the warrant with our Warrant’s Division and took him into custody. During a search incident to arrest, I located a small baggie of white powder in his pocket. I read him his Miranda Rights and he stated he understood. He believed the substance was meth but was not sure since he found it on the ground near a construction site. I tested the substance and it returned positive for meth.
Boshers has a $7,000 bond and court dates on both Monday & Tuesday for review and probation.
