Matthew Hussey was arrested early Wednesday morning for DUI, as he failed to stop at the flashing red light at N 11th and Gartland, after he left Edgefield for the night. It’s worth mentioning that of all the East Nashville DUIs we review, about half are at this single location. Hussey blew a 0.099 & a 0.097 on the breathalyzer.

According the the officer’s report, Hussey’s eyes were blood shot and watery, and he admitted to consuming a beer previously. Hussey failed Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs), and was taken into custody for DUI. Anthony Hussy posted his $1,000 bond and was released a few hours later. He will appear in court on 11/16.

Here’s the MNPD Affidavit:

On 10/25/2017 at approximately 0137 hours I observed a vehicle that failed to stop at the flashing red light at N 11th and Gartalnd. I conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, suspect, and while speaking to him could smell the obvious odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person and expelled breath, his eyes were blood shot and watery, and he admitted to consuming one beer at Edgefield. Based on the traffic infraction observed, indicators of impairment observed during my personal contact, and admission to consuming the one beer I requested he perform SFST’s which he agreed to do. The suspect was taken into custody for DUI based on the traffic infraction observed, indicators of impairment observed during my personal contact, indicators of impairment observed during the SFST’s, and admission to consuming the one beer. The suspect was read implied consent and agreed to take a breath test and the results were 0.099g/210L and 0.097g/210L.
