ARREST: Deondrick Prowell, You Can’t Pawn Stolen Things.

Deondrick Prowell, 24, got his first criminal charge on Wednesday. According to a police report (and his own TN state issued ID he used for the transaction), he pawned a stolen Dell laptop to Cash America Pawn.

In November, several items were stolen from a vehicle at Fisk University. Stolen items included a Dell laptop (valued at $1037). During the investigation, it was discovered that Deondrick Prowell had pawned the Dell laptop, using his own state issued TN photo ID to Cash America Pawn for $400.

Prowell was arrested on Tuesday for Felony Theft (>$1,000), and was released on the pre-trial program. He will appear in court on 01/05/2018.

Court Affidavit:

Your affiant was assigned a theft from motor vehicle case on November 16, 2017 where the victim had several items stolen from her vehicle while it was legally parked at Fisk University. The items stolen included a Dell laptop valued at 1,037 dollars, a womens wallet valued at 20 dollars, the victims apartment key and gate key card valued at 10 dollars, a pair of gold headphones valued at 40 dollars, and a phone charger valued at 10 dollars. On November 16, 2017 your affiant conducted a pawnshop check and discoverd that the defendant listed herein pawned the victims laptop that was taken during this incident. The laptop was pawned at Cash America Pawn located at 6118 Charlotte Pike on 11/13/2017 at 1552 hours and the defendant sold the item to the pawnshop for 400 dollars. The defendant provided the pawnshop with a copy of his state issued TN photo ID on the date this item was pawned and these incidents took place in Nashville, Davidson County, TN.
