Drug Arrest at S 7th & Boscobel: Meth, Weed, & Hydrocodone – Leon Deaderick

Just before 3AM Saturday morning, Leon Deaderick (48) was arrested on multiple drug charges while parked in his GMC Yukon at South 7th St & Boscobel.

Deaderick was sitting in his running vehicle at the above location at 2:40 AM Saturday. When an officer ran the tags of the white GMC Yukon they returned to a Silver KIA. (The actual tags for this vehicle expired 08/31/16 and were located inside the vehicle during a later search).

When Leon Deaderick stepped out of the vehicle, a glass methamphetamine pipe was in plain view in the driver door compartment, sticking out of a small black case. Upon further search of his person, the following was found:

  • 8 small baggies in a cigarette box
  • 3 grams of methamphetamine
  • 1.7 grams marijuana
  • 1 Hydrocodone pill
  • 2 snort straws
  • 1 glass meth pipe

This occurred within 1,000 feet of Martha O’bryan child development center and several other Drug Free Non-school zones in this area. Under Miranda the defendant said he did not know how the license plate got on his vehicle and refused to speak about the methamphetamine or paraphernalia.

The Charges:

  • CS, DRUG FREE NON SZ, SCHEDULE II (Felony)
  • CONT SUB, POSS OR CASUAL EXCHANGE (Misd)
  • CONT SUB, POSS OR CASUAL EXCHANGE (Misd)
  • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, POSSESS (Misd)
  • UNLAWFUL REMOVAL OF REGISTRATION DECAL OR PLATE (Misd)

Leon Deaderick is being held on a $20,000 bond, and will have a bond review hearing on 12/05. He has 2 failures to be booked in the past.

Court Affidavit:

The Defendant was observed sitting in a running white GMC Yukon on S 7th St at Boscobel St at approximately 0240 hours. A check of the tag on the vehicle (0A19V9) via state records came back to a silver KIA. Contact was made with the Defendant and he provided ID. A check of his ID revealed that he has two failures to be booked in the past five years and does not qualify for misdemeanor citations. When officers had the Defendant step out of his vehicle a glass methamphetamine pipe was observed in plain view in the driver door compartment sticking out of a small black case. During a search of his person the Defendant stated that he had about twenty dollars’ worth of marijuana inside the vehicle. While searching his person eight small plastic baggies were discovered inside of a cigarette box that was in his right front pocket. During a probable cause search of the vehicle discovered was 3 grams of methamphetamines, 1.7 grams of marijuana, 1 hydrocodone pill, and two snort straws. These were all discovered inside the small black case with the glass pipe. Also discovered inside the vehicle was TN Tag D8203A that comes back to this vehicle with an expiration of 08/31/2016. This occurred within 1,000 feet of Martha O’bryan child development center and several other Drug Free Non-school zones in this area. Under Miranda the defendant said he did not know how the license plate got on his vehicle and refused to speak about the methamphetamines or paraphernalia.
