There’s criminals, and there’s dumb criminals.

On Sunday, police were attempting to serve a warrant on Angela Misky on Fernwood Ave. While knocking on the door, police could plainly see Misky lying down on the bed, and they let her know that she had a warrant, and they were there to serve it. Misky replied “I’m not going to jail, I can’t make bond” while covering her face with a pillow. Shortly afterwards, she got up from the bed, and moved into an area that could not be seen from the outside.

Moments later, Justina Cruz appeared and sat down on the bed where Misky was moments before, and pretended to be Misky, who everyone knew at this point, had a warrant. Justina Cruz continued to pretend to be Misky, telling officers that she was the person that had been talking to them moments before, and told them that Misky was not at the residence. During this time, Misky was making her way to the attic of the home to hide.

A neighbor then appeared, to tell officer that Misky was not at home, and was at work. When questioned, the neighbor admitted that Justina Cruz had called and asked them to lie to the police. Eventually, police entered the residence and located Misky in the attic, hiding behind a chimney.

Cruz then stated:

“See, now I’m going to jail because I helped you hide!”

Cruz was booked into the Davidson County Jail for ‘False Report’, and bonded out on a $2500 bond via Grumpy’s. She will appear in court on 01/12/18. Her friend, Misky, was arrested on the outstanding theft warrant, with an additional evading arrest charge, with $2,000 in total bond, and was released on the pre-trial program without having to post money bond.

Court Affidavit:

POLICE KNOCKED ON THE DOOR OF xxxx FERNWOOD DR IN ORDER TO SERVE A WARRANT ON ANGELA MISKY (COMPLAINT NUMBER 20171079197). WHILE KNOCKING ON THE DOOR, POLICE OBSERVED ANGELA MISKY LYING DOWN ON THE BED. ANGELA WAS TOLD BY POLICE THAT SHE HAD A WARRANT. AT THAT TIME ANGELA PICKED UP A PILLOW AND COVERED HER FACE AND STATED “I’M NOT GOING TO JAIL, I CAN’T MAKE BOND”. A SHORT TIME LATER ANGELA GOT UP FROM THE BED AND WALKED TO ANOTHER AREA OF THE RESIDENCE THAT WAS NOT VISIBLE FROM THE OUTSIDE. ONCE OUT OF VIEW, THE DEFENDANT CAME AND SAT DOWN ON THE BED WHERE ANGELA HAD BEEN SITTING. WHEN ASKED ABOUT ANGELA’S WHEREABOUTS, THE DEFENDANT STATED THAT SHE WAS NOT AT THE RESIDENCE. THE DEFENDANT STATED THAT SHE WAS THE WOMAN POLICE HAD BEEN TALKING TO IN ORDER TO PRESENT HERSELF AS ANGELA WHILE ANGELA WAS CONCEILING HERSELF IN THE ATTIC. AT THAT TIME A NEIGHBOR APPROACHED THE POLICE AND STATED THAT THE PERSON WE WERE LOOKING FOR WASN’T INSIDE THE RESIDENCE BUT WAS AT WORK INSTEAD. WHEN ASKED, THE NEIGHBOR STATED THAT THE DEFENDANT CALLED THEM AND TOLD THEM TO APPROACH THE POLICE WITH THE FALSE INFORMATION. THE DEFENDANT EVENTUALLY ALLOWED POLICE TO ENTER THE RESIDENCE AND ANGELA WAS FOUND HIDING IN THE ATTIC. ANGELA WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. THE DEFENDANT WAS INFORMED THAT SHE WOULD BE CHARGED FOR HER INVOLVEMENT DURING THE INCIDENT AND SHE YELLED AT ANGELA “SEE, NOW I’M GOING TO JAIL BECAUSE I HELPED YOU HIDE”.
