Friday evening, Gerrod Hathaway was having dinner with his mother at Romano’s Macaroni Grill inside Opry Mills Mall, when apparently he got up from the table, went outside the restaurant into the mall area, and began destroying everything in sight. We have video below:
Hathaway destroyed a light up sign, broke a guitar and other musical equipment, and smashed out a window of Romano’s Macaroni Grill with a metal stanchion. Damage is estimated at over $5,000. According to an employee of Macaroni Grill, he had only been served lemonade. He stated that the guy stood up and called one of the Macaroni grill servers a “bitch”, yelled some more things, and then went over to Madame Tussauds where he picked up the stanchion that he used to break a sign and the Macaroni Grill Window.
Gerrod Hathaway was arrested on 4 counts of vandalism, and bailed out via R & Sons Bonding just after 11AM Saturday morning on a $3,000 bond and will appear in court on 01/19/2018.
Court Affidavit:
POLICE WERE DISPATCHED TO A CALL FOR SERVICE AT THE MACCARONI GRILL AT OPRY MILLS MALL. WHEN POLICE ARRIVED THEY ENOUNTERED THE DEFENDANT STANDING ON A STAGE INSIDE THE MALL OUTSIDE OF THE MACCARONI GRILL. THE DEFENDANT WAS HOLDING A METAL STANTION IN HIS HAND. POLICE TOLD THE DEFENDANT TO PUT THE STANTION DOWN AND PUT HIS HANDS BEHIND HIS BACK. THE DEFENDANT COMPLIED WITH ALL POLICE COMMANDS. THROUGH INTERVIEWING THE WITNESSES WHO ARE ALL PROSECUTING ON THIS CASE AS WELL AS THE MOTHER OF THE DEFENDANT POLICE WERE ABLE TO CONCLUDE THE DEFENDANT WHO WAS EATING DINNER WITH HIS MOTHER GOT UP FROM THE TABLE, WENT OUTSIDE, GOT THE METAL STANTION, BUSTED A WINDOW AT THE MACCARONI GRILL, DESTROYED A LIGHT UP SIGN OWNED BY SIMON PROPERTIES, WENT INSIDE TO WHERE THE STAGE WAS A BROKE A GUITAR OWNED BY MR. I’m curious to know the motivation for going batshit crazy. Surely the lemonade wasn’t that bad. People who behave like this should be made an example of and hopefully the punishment is so severe it will discourage others from behaving this way.
