Fired Lyft Driver Lee Lazarus gets job w/Postmates, Delivers to Lyft Office, Gets Upset, Spits on Guard & Gets Arrested

Remember the Lyft Driver, Lee Lazarus, who was terminated from the platform for kicking a passenger out of his vehicle after we publicized that the true reason was the passenger refused to tip him for an extra stop? He even went on Fox17 to plead his case about how great of a person he was, and would never act that way. Lee Lazarus began driving for Postmates after he was terminated from Lyft, and was arrested overnight on an assault charge just after 9PM, related to a yet another incident with a customer. That customer was the Lyft Offices.

According to an arrest report, while delivering food for Postmates, Lee Lazarus got an order for 150 2nd Ave North – which also happens to be the address for the Lyft corporate offices in Nashville. Once he picked up the food and reached the building at 150 2nd Ave N, security directed him that all deliveries need to be delivered directly to the 4th floor. At this point Lazarus became upset, called the security guard a bitch, tossed the food order on her desk in the lobby, spit on her, and quickly fled on foot.

This was all captured on video, and she contacted the delivery company who eventually released the name for police to take action. Lazarus was booked into the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department just after 9PM. Bond was set at $1,500, and Lazarus was released on the pre-trial program just after 1AM, to his Hendersonville address.

Lazarus will appear in court on 02/02/18 in Nashville.

Nashville Lyft Driver calls 911 on Black Passenger Who Refuses to Give $5 Cash Tip

Nashville Lyft driver Lee Lazarus was driving for Lyft when he picked up a passenger earlier this month in Nashville. He picked up the passenger at the Airport, and the passenger needed to stop and get liquor and cigarettes, a very common request for someone just coming into town, and Lyft even allows for stops to be added, and recommends they stay under 10 minutes to be considerate of the driver’s time (drivers do get paid for this time, just at a lower rate than if they were driving).

UPDATE: Driver has been terminated from the Lyft Platform.

Lazarus told the passenger that he would not stop at all, unless the passenger paid him a $5 tip in cash. The passenger placed the new mid-destination in the Lyft app, which is the proper procedure, and Lyft driver Lee Lazarus became angered and pulled over by the Nashville Athletic Club (4.3 miles from his pick up at the airport), and told the passenger to get out of his vehicle. The paying passenger, who was following the proper Lyft procedures, but refusing to give a $5 cash tip up front, refused to get out of the Prius. 15 minutes later (unpaid ‘waiting’ time since he ended the ride) the police showed up and since the ride was ended, he left the vehicle. Lazarus would have made more money by simply stopping, as is the proper Lyft procedure, instead of calling 911 on his passenger, because he refused to give a $5 cash tip to make a stop, for which the driver was already being paid for.

Lazarus then tried to justify it by saying “I didn’t know if he had drugs or weapons or what” – despite just picking him up at the airport where he would have passed through security on the incoming flight.

Lazarus previously told another driver he would wait for a customer if less than five minutes, otherwise he would “drop him like a hat” – and to “rate accordingly if he doesn’t tip you”

Lyft Policy for Changes to the address or multiple stops

Passengers can add a stop on the way to their final destination in original Lyft, Lyft Plus, or Premier rides. The app alerts you when a passenger adds a stop, which they can do before pickup or during a ride.
The final price and your pay is calculated based on time and distance. Rides with added stops will likely be longer and result in higher earnings.
Before passengers get out at a stop, set expectations on wait time. If they don’t return, tap through to drop them off instead of canceling the ride. If passengers want to change their drop-off location, they can update the destination in the app throughout the ride.

Lyft Policy on ‘Errands’

We love seeing community members help each other out, so we see running errands as a great part of the Lyft experience.
When making multiple stops, keep in mind that drivers are just like you and may have other plans later in the day. If you’re making a stop or going to leave the car for more than 10 minutes, ask the driver to end the ride. Then, request a new ride when you’re ready to go to your next destination.

Text of the Social Media Post

I picked him up at the airport. He wanted to stop at like a store for smokes, and then another store for alcohol. I told him I only stopped for a $5 cash tip. He said he wanted to spend about 5 to 10 minutes in each Place, wasting my time. He actually said this to me. So after I told him that, he said I’m going to place it in the Lyft app and force you to stop. So I stopped over by the Nashville Athletic Club and said we’re just going to end the ride now. He refused to get out of my car. He said in the ride before I get out. I said I don’t believe you’ll get out of my car if I in the ride. He continued to refuse, so I called the cops. The cops took 15 minutes to get there. This guy was a real jerk. And I didn’t know if he had drugs or weapons or what.

The decision to wait for a passenger at a stop is SOLELY at the discretion of the driver.

    The ONLY time that a driver is required to wait for a passenger is at the initial pickup;

5 minutes for a Lyft Ride
    1:40 for a Lyft Line

Lyft cannot force a driver to wait at a passenger stop nor are drivers obligated to wait 10 minutes for a passenger to run errands.

Drivers make the bulk of their money in distance, not time. Your story has factually incorrect information.

Jason, why do you want to hurt me? I never did anything to you. This time, there are many things wrong in the report. Even if maybe one or two of the things are correct. If you knew me, I believe you’d even want to be my friend. The problem with these reports is that they show up on social media, and it ruins people’s lives. Have you ever made a mistake in your life? This report came out less than 6 hours after something happened. And in the middle of the night. So somebody must have been researching things about me 24 hours a day. I made a mistake before when I threatened you with a lawsuit. I’m not going to do that. However, I am going to ask that you please, if you will, take these reports about me down off of your website. I really wish that things were different. The only question I ask of you, is that if you had something unfair happened to you, would you want to be labeled by somebody you don’t know as a bad person? I’ve had a lot of false accusations and unjust things happened to me in my life. Your newspaper says that you want to report accurately about the truth about who people are. Although there are some things that you can verify, this is not a true reflection of who I am. I truly am not expecting anything from you, given our past, but I am hoping. May God bless you and have a great day.

No one cares to research you 24/7, that’s not how news works. We had not one, but TWO, people tip us when you were going through booking. We have a lot of readers at DCSO, and you put your own face on TV, so they immediately knew who you were.

As expected, it didn’t answer my question. Well, I hope that I guess that you get treated the same way you’re going to treat me. I didn’t ask about who reported anything to you, I asked about integrity about doing the right thing. And by the way, this is going to be expunged because there isn’t going to be anything found on it. Trust me on that. Oh well, father, forgive Jason for he knows not what he does. May God bless you and I hope you get saved.
