On January 18th, MNPD conducted several undercover prostitution prostitution stings on Backpage.com ads – resulting in the arrest of 3 Asian females for prostitution and 1 Asian male for promoting prostitution.
After an investigation lasting several weeks, Mingyi Ma (male) was charged with promoting prostitution and arrested at the Extended Stay at 727 McGavock Pk. He was identified by MNPD as being a handler for several prostitutes in Nashville. He was observed driving the women around town, including to the grocery and to the bank. When his vehicle was searched, it was found to contain several hundred condoms, to which he admitted he sold to the women he drove for. (Warrant GS840877)
Xingyu Chen (female) was arrested on 01/18 and charged with prostitution, when Detective Shotwell contacted her via cell phone in response to an ad on backpage.com in the Women for Men section. He was directed to the Days Inn at 812 Murfreesboro Rd, where he paid her $160 in cash for which she then agreed to perform unspecified sex acts. (Warrant GS840876)
Also on 01/18, Ting Lei (female) was arrested and charged with prostitution, when Detective Wilson of the MNPD Vice unit responded to another ad on backpage.com, taking him to the Best Western at 825 Murfreesboro Pk. Once inside the room he paid the Asian female $200 for oral sex. Upon search, Ting Lei had $2400 in cash on her, which was seized on the belief it was proceeds of prostitution. (Warrant: GS840874)
Yuxia Musharbash Feng (female) was also arrested and charged with prostitution on 01/18. An undercover detective responded to an ad on backpage.com and was directed to the Extended Stay at 727 McGavock Pk to meet an Asian female. Yuxia Musharbash Feng agreed to “manually stimulate” the undercover detective once $160 was exchanged. The money changed hands, and she was taken into custody. (Warrant: GS840875)
