Tyjuan Haynes, who had been on the East Precinct’s Top 10 Most Wanted since July of 2017 was arrested on Thursday, on 19 charges, 13 of which are felonies.
On March 7th, MNPD Crime Suppression Unit detectives assisted Agents from the TBI with serving a search warrant on Tyjuan Hayne’s Hillmore Dr. residence. During a search of the defendants vehicle and residence multiple narcotics, weapons, and items of drug paraphernalia were found.
The items found included:
- 7.62×39 loaded rifle
- .45 caliber loaded handgun
- 9 grams of cocaine
- 0.3 grams of heroin
- 13.5 grams of marijuana, plastic bags, and a blunt roller.
- Multiple other substances were found that are believed to be controlled were found and were submitted to be tested.
When serving the search warrant, and attempting to take Tyjuan Haynes into custody on an outstanding felony warrant, Haynes was observed arriving at the location and backing into his driveway. Detectives moved in to take him into custody, and activated their blue lights. Haynes then put his car in drive and intentionally rammed both vehicles that officers were driving, and fled the area, passing at least one vehicle on the roadway at a high rate of speed, posing a significant risk to others. One vehicle wasdamaged with over $1000 in damages, and the other over $2500.
Tyjuan Hayneswas finally located yesterday (03/15/18) and taken into custody on a total of 19 charges, 13 of which are felony charges.
Haynes will have an initial review hearing on 03/19/18.
