Thursday during lunch at John Overton High School in Nashville, a 20 year old man (non-student) with multiple prior arrests for cocaine and other drug related charges and theft was found just hanging out in the cafeteria with students, bypassing all security and sign-in points at the school.

According to a police affidavit, 20 year old Hansey Emmanuel Sanchez was eventually noticed loitering in the cafeteria of John Overton High School during lunch, and they noted that he was not a student. When MNPS staff attempted to speak with Hansey, he fled from the cafeteria, and staff notified the school resource officer of his direction of flight.

Police observed Hansey leaving Overton High School property and running next door to Franklin Road Academy’s property, where children were outside playing at the time. The children began to scatter and run due to Hansey making way through the area. MNPD was driving a marked police car in chase of him, with blue lights and sirens activated.

Hansey ran until he was exhausted and had to stop on his own, and was taken into custody. He is charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. He posted a $1500 bond via Rader and will appear in court on 04/06/18.
