Amazon driver steals $28,000 of items from BNA facility to be mailed to customers

John Michael Pride, 40, was a contract delivery driver that was scheduled to deliver Amazon products to a post office in Murfreesboro, TN. Pride picked the products up from the Amazon distribution facility at 50 Airways Blvd, at the west side of the Nashville Int’l Airport (BNA), however he failed to deliver the Amazon products.

According to records produced by Amazon, John Pride scanned the products as delivered, but when he scanned them, the data showed the latitude/longitude of the location of the Amazon products were in Lebanon, TN, 30-40 miles from where they were supposed to be delivered. Pride’s cell phone information was pulled and also showed Defendant in Lebanon, TN when he scanned the products as delivered.

The following day, John Pride’s girlfriend rented a storage unit for him. The storage facility is located at 2165 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, which is at the entrance to the apartment complex where he lives. For reasons currently unknown, Pride’s girlfriend banned him from using the storage unit approximately in late January of 2018, and the following day, Pride was observed on video breaking into the storage unit on January 21, 2018 and removing numerous large bags of Amazon products from the storage unit and leaving the area.

In total, John Pride 1,100 pieces of Amazon products valued at $28,000 from Amazon’s distribution facility that was headed to the post office to be delivered. He was a contract driver for Amazon, directly employed by Bruthaman Logistics.

On Friday, 04/20, Pride was taken into custody for the theft, and charged with a Class C Felony, theft over 10K, but less than 60K. He posted a $10,000 bond via 1st stop bonding, and will appear in court on 05/04/18.
