Matthew Jordan Cherry, 22, was arrested early Friday morning on 7 outstanding warrants, including one that included the robbery of the Joelton Church of Christ last July.

According to court records, in July of last year, Matthew Cherry broke into the Joelton Church of Christ  and stole property belonging to the church at 12:36 AM on a Friday morning. A window was used for entry into the church, as discovered by staff when they arrived at the church just after 9 AM that day.

In a matter of pure luck for officers, later that day a Hendersonville police officer remembered that there was a tablet and digital projector in a vehicle during a traffic stop he had made, in which Matthew Cherry was an occupant of the vehicle. Later on, video footage was obtained of the burglary from inside the church, which clearly shows Matthew Cherry entering the church and committing the burglary.

Matthew Cherry was released on the pre-trial program, with new court dates for his charges of felony burglary, possession / casual exchange, suspended license(x2), altered title/registration, & removal of plate/decal. He has new court dates starting on 05/21/18.
