Son of DCSO Officer Arrested in Glade St Drug Bust w/LSD, 2.5lb Weed & 5 Handguns

A drug bust Tuesday nets 2.5 pounds of marijuana packaged for resale, 30 hits of LSD, 5 handguns, thousands in cash. Among those arrested is the son of a DCSO Officer, with 5 of 5 previous charges dismissed, and another young male he’s been arrested with before, with 13 of 14 charges previously dismissed, nearly all drug related. No one is charged with intent to sell/distrobution, only small misdemeanor charges other than a handgun & school-zone charge each. something doesn’t add up, Nashville. Do most people arrested with 2.5 lbs of weed and 30 hits of acid get to walk away without even paying a bond? That’s exactly what happened to half of the people in this arrest.

MNPD executed a search warrant Tuesday for a house on Glade Street in Nashville. During the raid, detectives located 1,168 grams (2.5 pounds) of marijuana in several different size packages ready for resale, along with 30 hits of LSD on paper strips.

$2,410 in cash was also seized, along with 5 handguns in the residence, digital scales, marijuana wax in a pipe, and xanax. All of this happened within 1,000 feet of Haynes Middle School, escalating the charges to a drug free school zone.

4 people, ages 19-22, were arrested inside the house.

Corrice D Thompson, Jr., 19, is the son of DCSO Officer Corrice Thompson, has faced 5 charges over the past 2 years, and they have all been dismissed by the state. 3 of them were drug related charges. He admitted under miranda that when police were at the front door he ran to the back closet and hid his .380 bodyguard pistol in the closet where a large quantity of the marijuana was found. He was charged with 4 misdemeanors, and 2 felonies (gun/school zone), and is held on a $10,000 bond.

Demontay Taylor, 21, admitted to selling narcotic out of the home, and that a half-pound of the marijuana and the cash found was his. Taylor also admitted to owning the Glock 27 with 3 magazines. He has been arrested/cited with Corrice Thompson multiple times before, and has had 13 of his 14 previous charges dismissed by the state. The sole remaining charge only carried a fine. They included 11 drug  related charges, 1 handgun charge, 1 credit card fraud – all dismissed by the state since 2015. He was charged with 4 misdemeanors, and 2 felonies (gun/school zone), and is held on a $10,000 bond.

Kimberly Benezue, 21, made no admissions, and was charged with 4 misdemeanors, and 2 felonies (gun/school zone), and given pre-trial-release without paying a bond.

Austin Wade Dehne, 22, admitted a half-pound of the marijuana was his. He has 5 previous metro charges, all of which were dismissed, some of them drug related. Dehne was charged with 4 misdemeanors, and 2 felonies (gun/school zone), and given pre-trial-release without paying a bond.

At the end of the day, 2 of the individuals were released on pre-trial-release without paying a bond, the other 2 have a $10,000 bond on small charges, no one was charged with intent or distribution, despite admissions to selling, and it being packaged for re-sale. Two of the charged have had virtually every past drug related charge dismissed, and at least one of their parents works as an officer. Something doesn’t add up, Nashville.
