Cordell Williams was arrested on Monday for outstanding warrants involving the theft of, and redeeming of, lottery tickets. He is currently being held on 5 counts of theft, and on an out of county warrant.
It all stared the morning of 02/15, when Cordell L Williams (29), entered the Mapco at 629 Old Hickory Blvd, and removed 22 lottery tickets valued at $25 each from the display box, and exited without paying. The total value was $550. Williams then fled the location in a gray Chrysler 300.
Later that same day, at 1:30 PM, Williams was observed entering the 204 White Bridge Pk location of Shell. Once inside, Cordell Williams removed approximately 7 lottery tickets from a the display box containing the lottery tickets for sale. The defendant then exited the location passing all points of sale without attempting to pay for the merchandise valued at $170. The defendant then fled the location in a gray Chrysler 300.
A few days later on 02/21, Cordell L Williams, went to the 7600 Hwy 70 S location of Mapco. Once inside, he removed approximately 30 lottery tickets valued at $20 each from a the display box containing the lottery tickets for sale, valued at $600. The defendant then fled the location in a grey Chrysler 300.
About an hour late, that same morning, Cordell L Williams, went to the 301 White Bridge Pk location of Marathon. Once inside, the defendant presented the clerk with winning lottery tickets which he had stolen from another location. The defendant received a total of $250 in winnings for the tickets he presented to the clerk. The defendant then fled the location in a gray Chrysler 300.
Williams still wasn’t done – the following week, on 02/27/18, at 10:00 PM, Cordell L Williams, was observed entering the 4314 Harding Pk location of Mapco. Once inside, the defendant removed approximately 22 lottery tickets valued at $25 each from a the display box containing the lottery tickets for sale. The defendant then exited the location passing all points of sale without attempting to pay for the merchandise valued at $550. The defendant then fled the location in a grey Chrysler 300.
Once Williams was arrested on 04/30/18, he admitted to both the theft of the lottery tickets, and the cashing in of winning lottery tickets that were stolen. He is currently held on a $10,000 bond, and additional out of county warrants. He will appear in court on 05/04/18.
