Dejuan Hobson arrested with 143g Heroin, 477g Meth, & Handgun in North Nashville

In the early hours of Saturday morning, MNPD noticed several people people in the street on Baldwin Ct. in North Nashville. As officers approached the crowd, several vehicles quickly left the street. One of the vehicles that left was a white 2014 Jeep Cherokee that drove away and parked in a nearby driveway on Revels Drive.

An officer parked across the street from the home and as soon as he exited his patrol car, Dejuan Hobson, who was driving the Cherokee, exited his vehicle and walked toward the officer. The passenger, Eric Thompson, also exited the vehicle, but went behind the house. Dejuan Hobson agreed to speak with the officer, while two other officers followed Thompson behind the house to speak to him. Those two officers reported an odor of marijuana coming from Thompson, and located 7 grams of marijuana next to him, which he admitted it was his.

Knowing that he had just exited the Jeep Cherokee, police state they believed there could be even more illegal drugs within the vehicle, and conducted what they considered to be a probable cause search of the vehicle. During that search, officers located a loaded handgun, 143 grams of heroin, packaged into 5 separate baggies. Also located was 477 grams of methamphetamine, packaged into 2 separate baggies, along with a digital scale, and four boxes of sandwich bags.

After Dejuan Hobson was taken into custody he requested to speak to an officer and stated to Officer Spees that everything located inside of the vehicle belonged to him. According to Officer Spees, this was unprompted, an no one had asked him about any of the items that had been found inside of the vehicle.

Hobson was charged with:

  • Poss.w/Int-Cont.Sub.- Heroin 15-149 gr. (B FELONY – $20K bond)
  • Poss.w/Int-Cont.Sub.- Meth 300 gr or > (C FELONY – $25K bond)
  • Weapon – during a felony (C FELONY – $15K bond)
  • Felon in possession of a firearm (E FELONY – $7500 bond)
  • Drug paraphernalia (A MISD – $2500 bond)

He was and booked into the metro jail just after 1:30 AM, and posted his $70,000 bond via Brooke’s Bail Bonding just before 8 PM. He is scheduled to appear in court on 06/29/18.

A friend later commented on Hobson’s arrest, stating it was “#stricklybusiness”:
