Russell McShand, 52, doesn’t have a valid license to drive, and according to court records it’s been suspended or revoked since at least 1993. In fact he’s been arrested at least 23 times for driving on a suspended/revoked license in as many years.

Perhaps inspired by George Jones, or perhaps by alcohol.. on Thursday morning, Russell McShand got on his John Deere lawnmower after he admits to having a few a drinks, and decided to hop on Briley Parkway.

MNPD observed the lawn mower being driven and initiated a traffic stop. The affidavit notes the officer immediately observed an odor of alcohol emanating from the driver. The officer also notes his eyes were bloodshot and watery. McShand could only produce a TN ID card, as his drivers license is revoked.

McShand admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the 11 AM hour traffic stop, but refused a blood draw. He was charged with DUI, Implied Consent, and driving on a revoked license. He was released on the pre-trial-release program, and will appear in court on 07/06/2018.
