Talor Hicks sues The Holland Group under his record label ‘Modern Whomp Records’; Wants out of contract

Taylor Hicks started his own Music Label called ‘Modern Whomp Records’ after parting ways with Arista, early on in his career, in order to cut out the middleman and keep more of what he earned.

Acting as Modern Whomp Records, he entered into an agreement with The Holland Group for artist representation, but Hicks claims they have failed to uphold their end of the agreement, and he now wants out of the contract and at least $15,000 in damages.

The suit, which was filed on Thursday morning, alleges that The Holland Group breached the contract with Modern Whomp Records (Taylor Hicks) by failing to pay advanced & other funds, and failed to respond to any requests, despite being provided written notice. Hicks seeks $15,000+, in addition to a declaratory judgement that the contract is no longer in force, and all rights granted by him are terminated.

We will provide updates as the case continues.
