Eric Jermaine Allen (‘Salem Town’ on social media) is behind bars on a $500,000 bond for attempted murder this morning, after his arrest yesterday for his role in the shooting of Troy Zains, 42. His accomplice, Deundre Bridges, is still on the run.

On July 9th, at 8:29 PM, officers were dispatched to 1213 Jefferson Street in relation to a person being shot. Police arrived and located the victim, Troy Zanis, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the left side of his abdomen. On the night of the incident detectives were able to identify and obtain an attempted criminal homicide warrant for Deundre Bridges, who was identified by witnesses as the person responsible for shooting Mr. Zanis.

Witnesses also advised on the night of the incident that there was a second suspect that accompanied Mr. Bridges. Witnesses were able to provide a good physical description of the second suspect but none were able to provide a name for the suspect. On July 11th, detectives received a call from one of the witnesses advising that they had found a Facebook profile of “Salem Town (Mac E)”, who was the second suspect.

Detectives were able to use a photo from that Facebook profile to send out to officers and get a real name, which turned out to be Eric Allen. A photo lineup that included a booking photo of Eric Allen was conducted, and the witness identified Allen without hesitation as being the second armed suspect involved in the shooting of Troy Zains.

Zains remains jailed on a $500,000 bond.
