Antonio Maurice Batts, 40, has been identified as the man fatally wounded shortly before 1 AM Wednesday morning in the 1600 block of 16th Avenue North.
Police say that Batts was sitting on the front porch of a home visiting the resident when a gunman approached, fired several shots, and fled the scene.
North Precinct detectives are examining Batts’ background to determine whether it is connected to his murder, as he was previously involved in a violent attack on three persons, two of whom were shot.
