Burning Tree Drug Bust Nets 4 Handguns, 1 Shotgun, Marijuana & Cash

Hermitage Crime Suppression Unit conducted a narcotics search warrant at 357 Burning Tree Drive on Thursday afternoon. A search of the residence yielded 4 handguns (Smith and Wesson 40C, Ruger 9 mm, Walther PPQ, and a black revolver), along with 1 Mossberg Shotgun.

Arrested were:

  • Miguel Rodriguez, 19
  • Theresa Bates, 18
  • Thereon Forman, 20
  • Yaire Mejia, 41

According to MNPD, while running records checks of the handguns, the Walther PPQ as well as the Smith and Wesson 40C handguns came back stolen in the NCIC database. Also seized in the residence was a total of 150 grams of marijuana, digital scales, multiple plastic baggies and vacuum sealed bags, all consistent with street level narcotic sales. Numerous items of paraphernalia such as pipes were also located throughout the residence.

One of the arrested, Miguel Rodriguez, told detectives that when he heard officers knocking at the door, he started to flush marijuana down the toilet. Marijuana residue was recovered from the toilet bowl. Detectives also seized approximately $1345 US Currency in small denomination bills. Under Miranda, the defendants stated that they did not know who the owner of the narcotics and firearms was.

All four are charged with drug & weapons charges related to the incident.
