Garrison Jamar Caldwell was arrested on Monday after he was found to be armed with a Taurus 9mm semi-automatic handgun on the TSU campus with two fully loaded magazines.
Just after 1 PM, officers responded to a call for assistance in regards to an armed subject on the campus of TSU. Initial reports were than the individual may be “talking to himself or possibly having some type of mental episode”.
Once officers encountered Caldwell, they noticed the butt of a weapon in his pants pocket, and he was taken into custody, and a Taurus 9mm semi-automatic handgun was retrieved from his pocket. While the gun was not loaded, he had two fully loaded 9mm magazines in his other pocket. The weapon was a Taurus Millennium G2, PT111 9mm, blue steel and the magazines had 12 bullets each for a total of 24 rounds in them.

Garrison Caldwell is charged with carrying a weapon on school property and was released on the pre-trial release program. He has 15 prior charges, and only 1 guilty verdict/plea. Prior arrests include charges for assault of an officer, inciting a riot, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, among others.
