Metro Beautification Commissioner Resigns After Outcry over Pet Sign Removal Plans

Just days after we published the plans of Metro Beautification Commissioner David Chilton to remove all of the missing animal signs after the 4th of July, he has resigned from his position. David Chilton was the Mayor’s appointed commissioner to the Beautification Commission for Antioch / District 33. His appointment would have expired in May of 2019.

After the publication of our story last week, District 33 Council member Antoinette Lee sent the following email to Chilton, asking him to not remove the signs 2 days after the July 4th holiday, which is the time period for the most missing pets during the entire year:

We have not yet received comment from Chilton or the Beautification Commission in response to this story.
