On Thursday, August 16th, MNPD detectives executed a search warrant at the East Nashville home of 30-year-old Gordon J McWethy, and recovered over 200 sexual images of minors under the age of 12.
At the Glenview Drive residence, McWethy admitted to having “over 100” sexual images of minor females under the age of 12 on a thumb drive in his room. McWethy admitted to being sexually attracted to minor females, and told detectives that is why he had the images saved.
Detectives seized the thumb drive, and found one folder that contained over 100 sexual images of minor children, some of which showed minor females performing fellatio, according to a police affidavit. Other images in the folder showed the “lewd and lascivious exhibition of the minor females’ vagina, breast or butt”. Inside a subfolder, another 100+ sexual images were found similar to the descriptions above.
Gordon McWethy was charged with felony sexual exploitation of a minor (over 100 items), and posted a $50,000 bond on Monday. He will appear in court on 09/07/18. The East Nashville residence where the search warrant was executed is owned by his parents, Kevin & Myra McWethy, who purchased the property in 2014. The property had a STR permit from 2015-2017, but has since expired.
