Early Wednesday morning, MNPD Officers responded to a burglary alarm at 1045 Elm Hill Pike just before 4 AM. Upon arrival, they made contact with an employee who stated that a male subject was inside the building. Officers observed the building had been ransacked and property was packed as if it were prepared to be taken out of the building.
Three motor vehicles belonging to the company had also been broken into with items missing. Officers cleared the building and later located the subject matching the description at 1121 Elm Hill Pike, and he was identified as Andrew Armstreet, 28.
Armstreet ran from officers and kept reaching for his waistband and yelling, “I have a gun, I’ll kill you.” Officers caught up to Armstreet trying to jump a fence where he continued to resist officers’ attempts to place him into handcuffs. He had items from the vehicles and building in his possession as well as burglary tools.
Armstreet remains in jail this morning on $92,600 bond. His charges, including possession of burglary tools, 3 counts of burglary of a motor vehicle, burglary, resisting, evading, and assault of a first responder for the threat.
