MNPD responded to a shooting call Sunday morning, at 1:16 AM, at an alley behind 621 40th Ave North. Upon arrival, the victim, Robert Trice, was found with two gunshot wounds to the back, and transported to Vanderbilt Hospital.
Five shell casings were recovered from the scene. Two witnesses told police they heard gunshots, and when they looked out the window, they saw the victim bleeding from the back, and a man they knew as “Lil B”, standing over the victim before fleeing on foot toward 40th Ave North. “Lil B” was identified as Brandon Elliott.
While recovering, the victim, Robert Trice, spoke to detectives and told them that “Lil B” asked to ride his bicycle a few hours earlier, around 6 PM, and he told him no. Brandon Elliott then reportedly called the victim names and left the area. Hours later, Elliott came up to Trice in the alley and said something to the effect of “Now I got something for you” and began shooting Trice. Elliott was positively identified in a photo lineup.
Brandon Juwuan Elliott, 25, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with Attempted Criminal Homicide, and is currently held on a $500,000.00 bond. He also has non-related pending charges for aggravated assault/strangulation, interference with a 911 call, drug possession with intent, evading arrest, and vandalism.
