Antioch Shooting: Michael Jefferson killed; 2 pounds marijuana found in apartment #Robbery

In an update to last night’s shooting in Antioch, police now believe that Michael Jefferson, 36, came to the apartment to commit a robbery of 2 pounds of marijuana and cash, found inside the apartment. He was killed in an exchange of gunfire, leaving 2 others injured.

The incident happened at Hickory Club Drive, inside the Club apartments in Antioch. It is believed that Michael Wayne Jefferson, 36, and his accomplice, Taleel Green, 19, came to the apartment with robbery in mind.

Witness statements indicate the two showed up at the apartment, pulled guns on the residents, and attempted to rob them. Two of the residents retrieved their own pistols and opened fire on the two that confronted them. During the exchange of gunfire, Jefferson was killed, and his accomplice, Green, was shot in the leg and is recovering.

Resident Toddrell Bell, 20, was critically wounded in the chest, and his friends transported him to StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna before police arrived to the scene. A search of the apartment found more than two pounds of marijuana and cash. This is still an ongoing investigation.
