A local nurse (RN) was arrested for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend at least twice, including alleged incidents of spitting in her face, punching her in the face, soaking her with a thermos of hot coffee, putting his elbow in her eye socket, and choking her.

Christopher John Sakacsi was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, on two outstanding felony warrants. The victims, his pregnant girlfriend, came to police for assistance after the most recent incident.

The victim reports that she and Sakacsi were having an argument when  she was pushed to the floor at least three times, and when she finally was able to get up, Christopher Sakacsi spit in her face and called her garbage, before the placed his hand on her back and laid her back to the floor, when he then grabbed her with his left hand and choked her neck.

She says Sakacsi then struck her in the left wide of her face with his right fist, and told her “I want to knock your brain and fucking teeth in”. While she was still on the floor, he then assaulted her with a bottle of pre-natal vitamins. Afterwards, Chris Sakacsi grabbed a thermos filled with hot coffee and threw it on her, soaking her with the hot coffee.

As the victim was getting up to get to the restroom, she says Sakacsi came after her, and pinned her against the bathroom wall, putting his hand around her neck, again. He then put his left elbow into her right eye socket causing her temporary blindness in her eye. The victim did seek treatment at a local hospital for her pain, and the health of her unborn child.

The victim also told of another incident, three weeks prior, when the two were at Cheekwood, and while they were in Sakacsi’s car in the parking lot, he became angry with her and reached over to the passenger side, where she was sitting, and used his right hand to grab her throat and push her against the door and window. While choking the victim, she reports he held his left fist near her face and told her “You’re lucky that I don’t knock your teeth out”, while choking her to the point that she had a hard time breathing, and felt as though she was going to pass out.

Sakacsi has been a registered nurse since October of 2017. Vanderbilt University Medical Center did not respond to a request for comment on his current status, or if he was working with patients. Sakacsi was charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault – strangulation, and his bond was set at $30,000, which he posted.
