24-year-old arraigned on charges of aggravated sexual battery of 12-year-old child

Nathaniel Santiago, 24, was arraigned in a Nashville court on Monday for 2 felony counts of aggravated sexual battery of a 12-year-old child.

The grand jury returned the two-count indictment in April, charging that Nathaniel Santiago, who is also known as Nathaniel Candelario, “intentionally engaged in unlawful sexual contact” with a 12-year-old child twice during July of 2017. Santiago was 22 at the time of the incident.

Santiago has multiple previous arrests for assault, most of which were dismissed because the victim refused to assist with prosecution. However, in August of 2017 Santiago took a plea deal on a three felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges, reducing them to misdemeanor assaults, for which he received one-year suspended sentences, and was ordered to complete the violence interrupted program and receive treatment at Centerstone while on 2 years of probation.

Nathaniel Santiago was arraigned in court on Monday, and is free on a $75,000 bond via Brooke’s Bail Bonding.
