Jishon Batey wore gloves, lay in wait, before shooting man on Ramsey Street Tuesday

25-year-old Jishon Batey has been charged with attempted homicide after police say he shot a 59-year-old man on Ramsey Street on Tuesday.

The victim says that as he was entering his home, with his 7-year-old son, he was stuck in the head with a firearm, and shot, after the gunman also pointed the gun at his child. According to Vanderbilt, he was shot once in the back, and once in the arm.

During a photo lineup, the victim was able to identify Jishon Batey as the man who shot him. Batey was interviewed by police several hours after the incident, and had acknowledged he lay in wait for the victim to arrive home, then entered the residence behind the victim and his son, and fired his weapon. He admits to wearing gloves during the incident.

Batey is charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and especially aggravated burglary. He is currently held in lieu of a $120,000 bond.
