Man found asleep in stolen car, in the middle of the road, with hollow point bullets in loaded pistol & counterfeit money

Erik Hooks-Williams, 19, was arrested on Saturday, after he was found asleep in a stolen car, in the middle of a street in East Nashville, with a loaded pistol in his shorts, hollow point bullets, and counterfeit money in his car.

Police were dispatched to area of Burrus Street and Hunters Meadow Lane, in response to call of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway. Upon arrival, officers observed Erik Hooks-Williams asleep in the driver’s seat, and were soon aware that the vehicle was reported stolen.

As they took Hooks-Williams into custody, officers found that he had a loaded pistol concealed in the waistband of his shorts with 9 rounds inside, 7 of which were hollow point rounds. Inside the vehicle, officers located counterfeit money, including a $20 bill with the word “replica” printed on it, and a $100 bill with Chinese symbols. 34 additional rounds of .380 caliber ammunition was also located in the vehicle, along with a destroyed driver’s license, which belonged to the owner of the stolen vehicle.

Eric Hooks-Williams is charged with theft $2500 or more, possession of restricted ammunition, possession of a weapon, and forgery, in addition to an outstanding state citation for simple possession from April. He bonded out on Wednesday, posting a $8,000 bond.
