Jessica Williams, 39, remains in jail in lieu of a $3,000 bond, after police say she taunted and attacked them while they were responding to SWAT standoff of a barricaded person at Cumberland View Apartments. She is charged with disorderly conduct & assault of an officer with bodily injury.

Some of the injuries to officer George Oden include a swollen upper lip, and scraped knuckles on his right hand from the ground, as a result of the incident.

Police say that Williams initially approached the crime scene tape, which was put up to keep bystanders away from the active SWAT situation, and made “threats and hand gestures” toward the officers, such as “Here I am, here I am” and “It’s on”. She then backed up about thirty feet from the crime scene tape, and took off running toward officers yelling “Y’all are going to have to kill me”, and tore through the crime scene tape as she approached the officers.

As she ran past the yellow tape, she ran into a nearby officer, and then turned to Officer George Oden. Once facing Oden, she began to strike him in the head and face multiple times with her fists. She was eventually taken to the ground with the assistance of another officer and placed into custody. Officer Oden refused medical treatment for his swollen upper lip, and scraped knuckles.
