SoBro search warrant nets cocaine, crystal meth, MDMA, U.S. currency, firearm, fleeing felon & more

Delvin Howard, 34, remains in a Nashville jail tonight, after police found 40 grams of cocaine, 47 grams of crystal meth, 8 grams of MDMA, $4,765 in currency, a gun, and multiple cell phones, in a search. Police went to the home to investigate a credit card fraud case, and smelled marijuana coming from the suite.

Metro Police were dispatched to the SoBro Guest House to investigate possible credit card fraud, and a female identifying herself a Khaliah Gray, and a male identifying himself as Riley Howard, came to the door. As soon as the door was opened, officers report smelling marijuana coming from the suite. Officers froze the scene while Central CSU detectives came to the scene to assist with a protective sweep and obtaining a search warrant.

Once the warrant was signed, it was executed and officers recovered:

  • a loaded pistol with two loaded magazines
  • 40.9 grams cocaine
  • 16 grams marijuana
  • 47.1 grams methamphetamine
  • 8 grams MDMA
  • digital scale
  • $4,765 U.S currency
  • 2 cell phones

While he was being detained, the male suddenly stood to his feet, ran toward office Foland, and pushed him against the wall, knocking Foland out of his way, as he escaped the police. He ran from the SoBro building, but was later apprehended.

During questioning, the male advised his actual name was not ‘Riley’, but was Delvin Howard, and he had outstanding felony warrants for his arrest. Howard admitted to owning the narcotics and firearm found during the search.

Howard was given a $143,000 bond, however has a parole violation with a no-bond restriction. He will appear in court for a review hearing on Wednesday morning. He is charged with 2 felony capias warrants, parole violation, assault of an officer, possession w/intent meth 26-299 grams, possession w/intent cocaine 26-299 grams, possession, possession w/intent SCH I, paraphernalia, evading arrest, and felon in possession of a firearm during a drug offense.
