In a sworn arrest warrant, MNPD Officer Meghan McKeown charged 23-year-old Kelsey Erny with assault of an officer, after Officer McKeown says she felt “in fear of an assault” when the 23-year-old turned into a fighting stance and said “Bitch, I’ll kick your ass”.

The incident occurred overnight, when Metro Police responded to a medical call, where Kelsey Erny was knocked unconscious from falling and hitting her head. She refused treatment or transport from medics, and police say it was ‘immediately apparent’ she was intoxicated. Without prompting Enry tried to prove her sobriety by voluntarily performing random sobriety tests.

At some point, Erny ran out of the house, and police say they followed her due to the state of her welfare. As Officer McKeown followed Erny down the driveway, Kelsey Erny turned to Officer McKeown and said “Bitch I’ll kick your ass”, then turned into a fighting stance. Officer McKeown says she was in fear of an assault at this time. Erny’s husband then intervened and pushed Erny back toward the residence. Erny was then taken into custody as she ran into the house.

Kelsey Erny was charged with assault of an officer, and posted a $1,000 bond. She will appear in court on 02/15/19.
