You may remember Lee Lazarus as the Lyft Driver who called 911 on a black man in his car, saying he was scared. Or perhaps you remember him as the guy who then got a job at Postmates to deliver to the Lyft office that fired him, only to spit on the recipient and get charged with assault. Now he’s struck again, and landed in a Nashville Jail.

Police say that 48-year-old Lee Lazarus entered Koi Sushi & Thai in East Nashville, and became irate at employees regarding restaurant charges. The situation escalated, and the manager verbally intervened to calm the situation. Eventually, the manager told Lazarus he was going to call police, and pulled out his cell phone, starting to dial the number for East Precinct.

Once Lazarus realized he was actually calling police, he began to physically assault the manager, in an attempt to gain control of the phone to prevent police from being called. When he was unsuccessful after multiple attempts, he fled from the location, but a patron followed him to obtain his license plate number, which was related to police by phone.

Once officers arrived, they reviewed security footage of the incident, and additionally add that Lazarus looked at the cell phone several times before finally lunging at it, twice. Lazarus, of Hendersonville, was booked into a Nashville jail on January 7th, charged with assault and interference with an emergency call. He posted a $2,000 bond via Bail U Out Bonding, and will appear in court in February.
