Zahnaee Chaney, 21, was not going down without a fight. When officers realized she had five outstanding warrants, she fled. It took 3 officers to restrain and cuff her once they caught up, and she still managed to assault one with her feet.

Late Friday night, officers approached a vehicle in the parking lot of 1801 Jefferson Street. Officers report they smelled the odor of marijuana as they approached the vehicle, and attempted to identify the occupants, including the front seat passenger, who was not forthcoming with information. The female initially told officers her name was Denise Brown, and gave a social security number that didn’t match the information she was providing.

As metro officers began to question her identity, she quickly turned and fled from the scene on foot. After a brief foot chase, it took 3 Metro Nashville Police officers to gain control of her hands and arms, and eventually place her into handcuffs. As officers were placing her into the back of the patrol cruiser, the woman managed to assault an officer by kicking them in the thigh.

The woman was eventually identified as Zahnaee Chaney, 21. She was charged with new and outstanding warrants, including: felony probation violation, resting arrest, evading arrest (x2), suspended license, assault of an officer, and criminal impersonation. Her bond is $10,250, with a hold on the probation violation charge.
