Investigation of a tip by West Precinct undercover detectives led to today’s arrest of fugitive Johnny Wade Appleton Jr., 39, and the seizure of 57 pounds of marijuana.
During the execution of a search warrant for Appleton’s arrest on outstanding money laundering charges, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana inside his 4804 Lynn Drive residence. Seized were 57 pounds of marijuana, 12 vials of marijuana oil, drug paraphernalia, and one handgun.
Appleton is charged with money laundering and conspiracy to deliver marijuana, and currently held without bond.
