Thanks to Metro Council Member Freddie O’Connell, it’s no longer illegal to deliver beer in Nashville after 11 p.m.
A 2014 Ordinance (BL2014-654) restricted the delivery of beer after 11 p.m. at night within Metro Nashville. The Metro Nashville Beer Permit Board has determined that no particular benefit came from this restriction, and Council Member O’Connell introduced BL2018-1440 in December, and it was approved on third and final reading at this week’s council meeting, taking effect immediately.
While it’s not certain that on-demand delivery were actually following the law, at least now they can deliver beer late at night without any risk of running up against an outdated city ordinance.
