When police responded to a domestic disturbance call on Jay Street in South Nashville, they found a husband and wife couple, and the husband presented with a fresh bite mark on his arm, and redness and marks on his face. It was 3:30 a.m. on January 1st, and he said his wife attacked him during a heated argument.
Police say during the argument the wife, Heather McElravy, 31, smacked the husband/victim on the face with her fists and knocked his glasses from his face, before picking up a screwdriver and charging at him with it. She then returned to striking the victim with her fists to his face and head. When the victim attempted to use his arms to protect, she bit him on the right forearm. The victim attempted to de-escalate the situation by going outside to sit in his car, however she followed him outside and continued to strike him.
Police determined Heather McElravy to be the primary aggressor though she told police that no altercation had happened. She was then taken into custody, for the second time in three weeks. She was out on bond from that incident at the time of this arrest.
Three weeks prior, on December 15th, police also responded to an incident where Heather McElravy was attacking and biting people, including her husband. Police found two victims of her assault and biting. One had an obvious cut to his face, along the left side of his mouth/cheek, and a bite mark to his left forearm. Her husband also suffered a bite which had blistered up with blood on his left hand. The two men were attempting to prevent her from driving while drunk, which prompted her assault on them.
For the first incident, Heather McElravy was charged with one count assault and one count of domestic assault, and posted a $4,000 bond via 1 Hour Bonding. For the second incident, she was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and posted a $10,000 bond via Grumpy’s.
