Howard McLemore is facing two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault for killing his passenger and another drive in a two-car head-on collision early this morning on Nolensville Pike at Paragon Mills Road.

McLemore, 52, of Madison, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro the wrong way on Nolensville Pike (south in the northbound lanes) when he collided with a 2009 Honda Civic. The impact killed the driver of the Civic, Joaquin Bastidas, 25, of Nashville, and injured his passenger, Ibrahim Viera, 18, of Arizona. McLemore’s passenger, Sandy Burns, 49, of Nashville, was also killed.

McLemore was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. An officer who saw him there noted that he appeared to be impaired. A blood sample from McLemore will be analyzed for alcohol and drug content by the MNPD crime laboratory.  He will be booked on the arrest warrants when he is discharged from the hospital, so his mugshot wasn’t immediately available.
