18-year-old arrested for pointing a gun at a motorist on Broadway downtown

Wednesday afternoon, a 54-year-old man reported a young man driving a Mustang at 14th Avenue and Broadway pulled up beside him, pointed a pistol at him and motioned for him to pull over. Instead, the victim called police and provided the Mustang’s description and license plate number. Midtown Hills Precinct undercover officers quickly spotted his maroon Mustang traveling on I-65 at I-440 and pulled him over.

Christopher Works III (MNPD)

18-year-old Christopher A. Works, III, of Tanglewood Court was identified as the driver of the Mustang, and is now jailed on multiple charges, including aggravated assault, no driver’s license, contributing to the delinquency of a minor,  and theft of property one of two loaded pistols in the vehicle, which was stolen from a vehicle in August 2018 on South Hampton Boulevard in Hermitage.

Guns Seized (MNPD)

Works had a 17-year-old with him in the car. The 17-year-old is charged with unlawful gun possession. Works is held in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
