It was billed as ‘Matt’s Quarter Century Kickback’, but the primary thing Matthew Stevenson[FB] ended up kicking was Metro police officers, as he was arrested and charged with assault of an officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct at his own birthday party.

Metro police were dispatched to 1602 21st Avenue South in the early morning hours of February 17th, for a report of a heavily intoxicated person. As soon as officers arrived, they heard Matthew Stevenson yelling “I ain’t fucking going anywhere!”, before throwing a punch at a security guard and falling down.

Stevenson[IG] also threw a punch at a Metro Police officer when he was attempting to take him into custody, however he missed his target. While multiple officers were trying to restrain Stevenson, he kicked them in the shins. Stevenson also refused to give officers his hands during what became a struggle, despite officers repeated commands to stop resisting and give his hands up. Eventually, Stevenson was restrained, and the report notes they smelled alcohol on his breath, slurred speech, and he was unsteady on his feet.

During a search incident to arrest, a small amount of marijuana was also found in his left pocket. Matthew Stevenson was arrested and charged with assault of an officer, simple possession, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. He posted a $13,700 bond via Jenkins Bonding.
