Man out on bond for kidnapping woman in vehicle is re-arrested Tuesday in stolen vehicle

Demarco Underwood, 33, who was already out on bond awaiting trial in a 2017 case where he kidnapped a woman by grabbing her and pulling her into his truck, has now been arrested while driving a stolen car late Tuesday night.

Metro police say they observed a blue Toyota Highlander driving on Lafayette Street, near Carrol Street, late Tuesday night, around 10: 45 p.m. After running the tags on the vehicle, officers realized it was confirmed as stolen from here in Davidson County.  Officers observed the vehicle until it eventually pulled over on its own on I-65 near mile marker 81. The driver, Demarco Underwood, was taken into custody.

Demarco Underwood was charged with felony auto theft, and posted a $3,500 bond. He was free on a $50,000 bond for 2 counts of aggravated kidnapping at the time of his arrest.
