Man tells officer “I’m just getting high” when caught chopping up cocaine in parking lot

Corey Taron McGee, 38, is currently held in lieu of a $29,000 bond after police found him chopping up cocaine in an East Nashville parking lot, and he told the officer “I’m just getting high.”

Metro Police say they were working surveillance in the area of Hart Lane and Dickerson Pike, when they observed Corey McGee chopping up cocaine in the parking lot of a liquor store in the area. Detectives made contact with McGee, at which time he told them he was just getting high. Inside the vehicle, detectives found a rolled up dollar bill with cocaine residue, Hydrocodone & ecstasy pills, 29.3 grams of marijuana, 9.4 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and a loaded Glock 17 inside the center console.

Corey McGee is held on a $29,000 bond for felony weapon charges, paraphernalia, and felony drug charges.
