MNPD rear-ends teen driver on interstate; settles claim for $7,746 admitting no liability

In a court approved settlement this week, the city has settled a claim for $7,746.30 after a MNPD vehicle rear-ended a 16-year-old driver on I-40.

The settlement details the teen driver was traveling eastbound on I-40 when a Metro Nashville Police Department vehicle, traveling the same direction, collided with the rear of the truck driven by the 16-year-old, causing the truck to collide with another vehicle. The teen received medical treatment for injuries.

The two parties have settled the claim for $7,746.30.
