Lipscomb University’s Assistant Director of Athletic Operations, Alex Ross, was arrested at Tin Roof Bar in the early hours of Sunday morning, after officers say 3 different women accused him of inappropriately touching them inside the bar.

Tin Roof’s security staff had already removed Alex Ross from the bar at least once before Metro Police arrived, as they say he was extremely intoxicated and 3 separate women had made complaints that Ross inappropriately touched them, however Ross repeatedly refused to leave the property. When Metro Police made contact with Ross, they described him as ‘smelling of alcohol, slurred speech, and unsteady on his feet’.

Police note he was standing near the entrance when they initially arrived, and overheard him telling Tin Roof’s security that he “wasn’t going anywhere”. Metro once again asked Ross to leave the property, and he again refused. Metro Police Officer Dakota Vermillion states that “officers attempted to gain control of the defendant’s hands to take him into custody, however he refused to give officers his hands, and pulled away. Officers had to forcefully gain control of the defendant’s hands to take him into custody.”

The three women did not want to prosecute at this time, and Alex Ross, 30, was charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest. He is free on pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court in early April.

We are in contact with Lipscomb University, however they had not yet responded to our request for comment at the time of publication. Ross was reached via phone, but declined to comment on his arrest.
