Willie Outlaw III, 23, is out on pre-trial-release after he was arrested Monday and charged with two felony, and one misdemeanor, drug related charged.

On Monday, Metro Nashville Police conducted a ‘knock-and-talk’ at Outlaw’s Brentmeadow Circle residence, which is when police don’t have a warrant, but knock on the door, and either attempt to find a reason to get a search warrant (such as claiming they smell marijuana), or get the resident to sign a consent to search form, often using lies and deceit, which is perfectly legal, even if unethical.

Detectives convinced Outlaw, and the other occupant of the home, to give verbal consent, and then sign a written consent to search. Police say both occupants then told them marijuana was located in the residence. Detectives recovered 290 grams (10 ounces) of marijuana, 3 digital scales, 12 vials of THC oil, and a 9 mm CZ Scorpion gun.

Willie Outlaw claimed ownership of everything seized from the search warrant, and according to an arrest warrant, told police he sold marijuana, and bought the firearm approximately one year ago. He is charged with possession with intent of marijuana 14.175-4,535 grams, possession of a weapon during a felony, and paraphernalia charges. He is free on pre-trial release.
